Inspirations
Anime I keep coming back to, and why it stayed with me.
Some of these got me into reading light novels. Others are here for the music, the animation, or simply the memories. Tap a card to read my notes.
Anime
I got into anime in middle school. These are a few series I’d recommend, with the reasons they stuck with me.

86: Eighty Six
86―エイティシックス―
Personally, this is the series I've continued following through its light novel to this day. By exploring themes such as human rights, racism, and war, it offers a different perspective on just how terrifying humanity can be.

Steins Gate
STEINS;GATE
One of my top three anime of all time. This is exactly how a Science Adventure series should be adapted. The complexity of its story challenged me to think more deeply and helped me better understand how intricate storytelling can be.

Mushoku Tensei
無職転生 ~異世界行ったら本気だす~
Since 2020, I think Mushoku Tensei has been the series that helped me build a reading habit. It was the first novel series I ever committed to reading, and I made it almost all the way to the end. Despite its controversies, I genuinely enjoy the series as a whole.

[Oshi No Ko]
【推しの子】
I'm not quite sure how to describe it, but I have so much respect for the way Aka Akasaka wrote Oshi no Ko. To me, the series feels like his way of criticizing the current state of Japan's entertainment industry. Beneath its captivating story lies a thoughtful commentary on fame, obsession, and the darker side of the industry.

Violet Evergarden
ヴァイオレット・エヴァーガーデン
It's easy for me to call Violet Evergarden the greatest anime of all time. I could truly feel the passion and dedication the animators poured into bringing this story to life. My deepest condolences go to everyone affected by the tragic Kyoto Animation arson attack, especially the creators who lost their lives.

Blue Period
ブルーピリオド
To me, this anime is incredibly meaningful and deeply motivating. It reminds me of how we often go through life hiding behind a mask, only to eventually embrace who we truly are and find the courage to pursue the things we genuinely love.

Kara no Kyoukai
劇場版 空の境界
I think this was my second introduction to the Nasuverse after the Fate series. I personally love it because it explores magic and Mystic Eyes in much greater depth, and it was also the series that introduced me to Kalafina's music.

Sonny Boy
サニーボーイ
Honestly, I don't fully understand this anime myself. But I think its stunning visuals and abstract storytelling are what make it truly stand out.

Date A Live
デート・ア・ライブ
This was one of the anime that defined my childhood. To some people, it might seem like nothing more than a series about collecting waifus, but after reading the light novels, I realized there's actually a much more interesting story behind why the anime is the way it is. And yes... Kurumi is my waifu.

Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai!
中二病でも恋がしたい!
One of the anime that defined my childhood. I still remember it because it was one of the very first anime I ever watched, and the one that got me interested in anime in the first place. It's not necessarily an extraordinary series, but for me, it holds a special place simply because of the memories attached to it.

DanMachi
ダンジョンに出会いを求めるのは間違っているだろうか
What I love most about *DanMachi* is watching Bell's journey of constant growth and grinding. But beyond that, I think the thing that excites me the most about this series is its beautiful world-building.

Fate/stay night
フェイト/ステイナイト
I first got into the Fate series because I challenged myself to finish some of anime's biggest and most interconnected franchises, like Fate, Toaru, and other series with sprawling timelines, multiple adaptations, and countless spin-offs. It started as a personal challenge, but before I knew it, I had fallen in love with the Nasuverse especially the way ufotable goes all in whenever they adapt a Type-Moon work. Haha.
Personal favorites, in no particular order.
